Historic Vehicle Registration Information

For members who want to consider placing their car, motorcycle, truck, trailer and or caravan on the NSW Conditional Registration Scheme (CRS) commonly referred to as "Club or Historic Registration" the following forms will be of assistance to you.

Historic Vehicle Registration Process

  1. Obtain email advice from the Cool Cars NSW that your vehicle is accepted for the Historic Vehicle Scheme. This is emailed to members after reviewing your vehicle photos and details provided to us via the Cool Cars NSW membership form. If you are an Existing member adding an additional vehicle you will receive your approval email after you provide us with photos of your vehicle. Front, rear, side, interior & under bonnet. We will not accept any paperwork until this has been done. Please allow at least 2 weeks to receive your approval email.
  2. Complete the following RMS forms. (1) Application for Conditional Registration (2) Historic Vehicle Declaration. These will be attached to your Historic Vehicle Scheme approval email for you.
  3. Obtain a Pink Slip for the vehicle. The Pink slip provider must fill in and sign page three of your "Application for Conditional Registration form" in the section titled "Vehicle Identified by". Make sure you use our correct Club Name – "Cool Cars NSW on the Historic Vehicle Declaration form in section 1 titled “Club membership details (Primary Club name first)".
  4. Mail all documents to Cool Cars NSW with a Self-Addressed stamped envelope
  5. Mail a COPY of your Pink Slip and the ORIGINAL Historic Vehicle Declaration and COPY of the Application for Conditional Registration to Cool Cars NSW NOTE: the RMS will not accept emailed documents so they need to be mailed to us.
  6. These documents will be stamped by Cool Cars NSW who will then use your self addressed stamped envelope to send them back to you so that you may take them to the Service NSW to complete your registration.
